Attractions & Local Highlights

1. Beachfront & Outdoor Fun

Madeira’s wide, sandy beach is perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and shell hunting. The calm Gulf waters make it a family-friendly destination.

2. Fishing Heritage & Water Adventures
Originally a fishing village, Madeira Beach still celebrates its roots. The annual John’s Pass Seafood Festival (each October) honors local fishermen with live music, local art, and of course, incredible seafood. Anglers can fish off the shore, from local piers, or head onto the Gulf with one of the many charter boats that leave daily from the pass.

3. Nature & Day Trips
Just a two-minute walk away, R.O.C. Park offers waterfront walking trails, a playground, and scenic views of Boca Ciega Bay. Two other nearby parks (Seminole Lake Park and Walsingham Park) are teaming with wildlife and offer paved and shaded walkways meandering through lush vegetation. For more nature escapes, Hubbard’s Marina hosts eco-tours to nearby islands like Shell Key Preserve and Egmont Key. Madeira Beach is a short drive from St. Pete Beach, Clearwater Marine Aquarium, and the Salvador Dalí Museum in downtown St. Petersburg.

4. John’s Pass Village & Boardwalk
This bustling waterfront boardwalk is the heart of Madeira Beach life. With over 100 shops, restaurants, and water-sports rentals, it’s the go-to spot for deep-sea fishing charters, dolphin-watching cruises, parasailing, and jet-ski adventures. Local favorites like The Friendly Fisherman, Bamboo Beach Bar, and Mad Beach Brewing serve up fresh Gulf seafood and craft brews with incredible views.

Local Atmosphere

Madeira Beach has a friendly, small-town feel with a balanced mix of locals, snowbirds, and returning vacationers. Its slower pace makes it a favorite among those seeking a relaxed alternative to the busier Clearwater or St. Pete beaches. You’ll find tiki bars, beach cafés, boutique condos, and seaside motels—all within a few- minute easygoing stroll along the beach.
